Hurricane Mitigation for Garage Doors

Now may be the time to replace your old wood door
With a Hurricane Resistant new garage door

We are approaching the peak season for tropical storms. September is the worst month for hurricanes. New insurance legislation now deems that if over 25 % of a roof is damaged, the whole roof on all of the units in the building needs to be rebuilt to code. If this occurs, it would result in major expense to the Eagle Lake HOA and the individual unit owners.

A contributing factor to roof damage in a hurricane is the garage door.   One garage door that is blown off could damage the entire roof of the building.   Doors of the type some Eagle Lake unit owners have (wooden garage doors) are not are not even sold any longer.
